It only occurred to me afterwards that this was a more appropriate title for my previous post.

The beginnings of an empire

I think by now that I've told everyone. If I haven't apologies, it wasn't intentional.

My first autonomous subroutine is scheduled to be delivered around October. Yup, Claire's about 14 weeks pregnant.

The little nipper's a boy. Showed up clearly on ultrasound, clearly my progeny ;-)

Typical really, since we only had a name option for a girl. So now we're racking our brains trying to find something (relatively) unique that won't get the little guy ripped to shreds at school (guys are particularly good at this; and yes, I speak from experience, on both sides).

Claire's feeling pretty crap. "Morning" sickness appears to be a 24 hour phenomenon, and although for most women it seems to come to an abrupt end after 3 months, in some it can carry on right through to term. And Claire's showing no signs of feeling better. We're holding thumbs (and feeding voraciously to combat the nausea).

Other than that, not a whole lot to report. I have running bets with a number of people regarding whether or not this will "change my outlook on Life" (I'm betting against what I call the Men's Health delusion).

Stick around and find out who wins (me, oops, is that a spoiler?).
